Some services may require a consultation before booking so I can ensure the correct amount of time is allocated and that your desired result can be achieved safely.

Please make sure your contact details are up to date when booking so I can reach you if needed.

Consultation forms will be sent to all new colour clients and for all colour correction work before the appointment.

These forms are an important part of your service and allow me to understand your hair history, previous colour and chemical services, current condition, desired result and anything else that may influence your appointment.

Please complete your consultation form as accurately and thoroughly as possible before your appointment. There is never any judgement around your previous hair history—the more information I have, the better I can plan your service and make safe, informed decisions for your hair.

For some services, I may also contact you after reviewing your form to discuss your hair in a little more detail before your appointment.

Some appointments, including colour corrections, larger transformations and extended services, may require a deposit to secure your booking.

Your deposit will be deducted from the final cost of your service. Deposits may be non-refundable when the cancellation policy is not met.

I completely understand that life happens and sometimes plans need to change.

I kindly ask for at least 48 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. Appointments changed with less than 48 hours’ notice may incur a cancellation fee to cover the appointment time that was reserved for you.

Missed appointments without notice may be charged up to the full booked service amount.

As an independent stylist, late cancellations and missed appointments have a significant impact on my small business. I really appreciate as much notice as possible so I have the opportunity to offer the appointment to someone else.

I understand that sometimes things happen that are outside of your control. If you’re running late, please let me know as soon as you can.

Depending on the time available, I may need to adjust or shorten your service, or occasionally reschedule it, so that the appointments following yours aren’t affected.

For colour appointments, please avoid arriving with heavy oils or excessive product build-up unless we’ve discussed otherwise.

All root touch-up sprays and temporary root-covering products must be thoroughly washed out before your colour appointment. These products can create a barrier on the hair and interfere with how effectively the colour processes and takes to the hair.

If you’re unsure about a product you’ve used before your appointment, please feel free to ask me.

You’re always welcome to bring inspiration photos. They’re a great starting point for discussing what you love, what will work with your hair and what will realistically fit your lifestyle and maintenance preferences.

I want you to feel comfortable during your appointment, so relaxed clothing is absolutely fine. However, I recommend avoiding bulky hoodies, high collars or anything that sits heavily around the neck, as these can make it more difficult to comfortably perform your service and properly position capes and towels.

I also recommend avoiding white, light-coloured, delicate or expensive clothing, particularly when attending a colour appointment.

I take great care in my work and always endeavour to keep professional colour and salon products strictly where they belong—on your hair. However, hair colour is a professional chemical product and, despite every reasonable precaution, accidental splashes or transfer can occasionally occur in a working salon environment.

Choosing clothing that you would not be concerned about in the unlikely event of accidental contact will allow you to relax and enjoy your appointment without worrying about what you’re wearing.

Healthy hair will always be my priority.

I will be open and honest about what I believe can safely be achieved while maintaining the integrity of your hair.

Sometimes the healthiest route to your dream hair isn’t the fastest one. If I feel a requested service could compromise your hair, I may recommend an alternative or create a plan to achieve your goal over several appointments.

Every head of hair is different. Your natural hair, previous colour history, condition, texture and home care can all influence what can be achieved and how your colour wears between appointments.

Inspiration photos are absolutely welcome, but they are a reference rather than a guarantee of an identical result.

Some transformations may require more than one appointment. I’ll always be honest about what I believe is achievable and work with you to create a beautiful result while prioritising the health of your hair.

Please be completely open with me about your previous hair history, including box colour, bleach or lightening, toners, henna, keratin or chemical treatments, extensions and previous colour corrections.

There is never any judgement—I simply need the full picture to make the safest and most appropriate decisions for your hair.

Every appointment is individually tailored. Pricing reflects the time, expertise and professional products required for your individual service.

The final price may vary depending on your hair’s length, thickness, history, condition and the amount of time or product required.

If I believe your service or price needs to change significantly from what was originally discussed, I’ll talk this through with you before proceeding.

Please let me know before your appointment about any allergies, sensitivities or scalp concerns that could affect your service.

A skin sensitivity test may be recommended or required before certain services. Your comfort and safety are incredibly important to me.

I completely understand that sometimes we don’t feel our best.

To help protect myself and the other clients who visit the salon, I kindly ask that you reschedule if you are experiencing a contagious illness or symptoms such as fever, vomiting, diarrhoea or significant flu-like symptoms.

Working so closely with my clients means one illness can quickly affect my ability to work and, in turn, many other appointments.

If you’re unsure whether you should attend, please get in touch. I’m always happy to have a conversation and work out the best option.

Living in the Kimberley, I completely understand that head lice can be a common part of life, particularly for families with school-aged children. There is absolutely no judgement—it can happen to anyone.

If you believe there is a possibility that you may have head lice, I kindly ask that you have your hair checked before attending your appointment. I also ask parents and carers to please check their children’s hair before bringing them in for an appointment, even if there are no obvious symptoms.

If active head lice are present, I unfortunately won’t be able to continue with the service and the appointment will need to be rescheduled once the hair has been treated and cleared.

If you arrive for an appointment with active head lice, the appointment will be treated as a missed appointment and the scheduled service fee may still apply. The appointment time has been reserved specifically for you, and I also need additional time afterwards to thoroughly clean and prepare the salon and my equipment before welcoming my next client.

My intention is never to make anyone feel embarrassed or uncomfortable. This policy is purely about looking after everyone who comes through my door and maintaining a clean, comfortable salon environment.

I absolutely adore seeing families and love welcoming children into Sonder Atelier.

For the comfort and safety of your little ones, I kindly ask that you arrange care for children during your appointment where possible, unless they’re coming in for their own hair appointment.

A working salon can involve professional colour and lightening products, fumes, hot styling tools, sharp equipment and other things that aren’t always the safest environment for little ones.

I also want you to be able to relax, enjoy your appointment and have a little time for yourself without needing to supervise your child throughout your service.

I completely understand that arranging care isn’t always possible. If that’s the case, please let me know before your appointment so I can make sure the environment is as safe and comfortable as possible for both you and your child.

More than anything, I want you to leave Sonder Atelier completely happy with your hair.

If there is ever anything about your service that you’re unsure about or not completely happy with, please come to me. I am always more than open to hearing your concerns and having an honest conversation about them.

Please never feel worried or awkward about contacting me. There will never be any awkwardness or judgement from my side. I would always much rather you tell me how you’re feeling and give me the opportunity to understand your concerns and, where appropriate, make things right.

Sometimes something as simple as a toner adjustment, styling change or small refinement can make all the difference.

Please contact me within 7 days of your appointment wherever possible so I can assess your hair and discuss the best way forward with you.

Beautiful salon colour continues at home. I’ll recommend aftercare based on your individual hair needs and explain how to maintain your colour, condition and longevity between appointments.

Heat styling, sun exposure, swimming, water quality, product choice and your maintenance routine can all affect your hair and colour over time.

Following your recommended aftercare gives me the best foundation to keep creating beautiful, healthy results at future appointments.

If a retail product is faulty, please contact me so I can help. Returns and exchanges will otherwise be handled in accordance with applicable Australian consumer guarantees.

Your comfort comes first. If you would prefer not to have your photograph taken or shared, simply let me know. There is absolutely no pressure.

I collect information needed to manage your bookings, communicate with you and provide your services. Your information will not be unnecessarily shared with others.

Please take care of your personal belongings while visiting the salon. I take every reasonable care around your belongings, but please keep valuables with you wherever possible.

Sonder Atelier is a welcoming space, and kindness and mutual respect are incredibly important to me.

I reserve the right to respectfully decline or discontinue a service if I believe proceeding would be unsafe, unsuitable or not in the best interests of the client or salon environment.

Payment is required at the completion of your appointment. I accept EFTPOS, Visa, Mastercard and bank transfer as available payment methods.

All new colour clients will be sent a consultation form before their appointment. Consultation forms are also required for all colour correction work. Please complete your form honestly and thoroughly so I can understand your colour and chemical history, current condition and goals, and create the safest and most realistic plan for you.

I may ask you to send clear, recent photos of your current hair along with a few inspiration images. Natural-light photos are particularly helpful and allow me to understand your starting point and allocate the appropriate service and time.

Please include any professional colour, box dye, bleach, toners, henna, keratin treatments, chemical straightening, extensions and previous colour corrections. Even treatments or colours from quite some time ago can still be relevant. There is never any judgement—hair history simply helps me look after your hair.

We’ll talk about your goals, current condition, previous experiences, maintenance preferences, lifestyle and what you don’t like. From there, I’ll recommend an approach that works for you rather than recreating a photograph on a completely different head of hair.

Bring the Pinterest pictures, save the Instagram posts and screenshot the hair you love. They’re incredibly useful for understanding your taste. Everyone has a different natural colour, density, texture, history and condition, so I’ll use your references to create a personalised version that works beautifully for you.

Major colour transformations aren’t always achievable safely in a single appointment. If your end goal requires several sessions, I’ll explain why and create a plan with you. I would much rather take a little longer and leave you with beautiful, healthy hair than compromise its condition chasing an unrealistic result in one day.

The number of appointments I can offer is limited. If maintaining your colour requires regular appointments, I recommend rebooking before leaving the salon where possible.
